Help Us Fund BLOOD - A SHORT FILM

Blood  is a short film that deserves to be seen. Please click through to find out how you can help get Blood  seen!

Time is running out to help us fund this new short film that has an amazing premise! I won't spend too much time discussing the particulars. Instead, check it out for yourself down below and donate to the spirit of independent horror filmmaking. Every little bit helps. Thanks so much for your time!

While writing Blood, I was inspired by the execution and style of 60's, 70's and early 80's anthology films including Mario Bava's Black Sabbath, Creepshow, and the Tales from the Crypt series. I am fascinated with the simple yet effective arch of following a character who commits a crime and is slowly destroyed by guilt. Throughout the film, I pay direct homage to some of these movies, while visually referencing films like Rosemary's Baby, Maniac, and Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer.
However, in this short I wanted to make a character piece that focused on someone who is completely withdrawn and introverted from the rest of the world. As opposed to some of the above mentioned movies, which focus on surreal style and purposefully campy themes, I wanted to make a grounded and serious short that has a slow burn, but remains consistently engaging and scary, largely due to my protagonist. His name is John.
John is a serial killer who has a unique characteristic: he is afraid of blood. We follow John after he kills his latest victim, going back to his apartment and attempting to continue his usual routine, but as the night progresses, it becomes apparent that something is wrong.

Thanks for your help,

bryan.
