DIRTY DEVIANT WEEK: The Poughkeepsie Tapes (2007)

In 2007, John Erick Dowdle and his brother, Drew, brought us a haunting found footage film called The Poughkeepsie Tapes. The film was never released and, most likely, won't come out any time soon. However...you can see it right here!

The tale of The Poughkeepsie Tapes  is an odd one. I remember actually seeing a poster for the film almost a decade ago and hearing all kinds of buzz for it. Then...nothing. It vanished. I actually got my hands on a bootleg copy years later and reviewed the film HERE. But, it was still nowhere to be found.

The film was to be a found footage mockumentary based on countless video tapes discovered in an abandoned house that revealed all the brutal killings and tortures of a mysterious serial killer that has never been caught. It's sort of based on the killings of real-life murderers and presents some truly intriguing theories and elements regarding the film's antagonist. It's actually one of the better films of this kind and garnered just enough attention to land the Dowdles work on the films Quarantine  and Devil.

Unfortunately, as of this writing, The Poughkeepsie Tapes  has never been officially released and is not going to see the light of day anytime soon. So...we have it for you below! Check it out and let us know what you think before it gets taken down!
