Universal Pictures, that is!
That's right, ladies and Deviants! The same film studio famous for introducing us to all the classic monsters from the early days of film. Dracula, Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, The Phantom of the Opera, The Mummy, The Wolf Man, The Creature from the Black Lagoon...Jesus, I could go on all day. Well, that same studio just acquired its newest monster.
We just learned that Jen and Sylvia Soska's latest film, American Mary has been picked up for full international distribution rights by Universal Pictures! Exciting news, considering how much positive feedback the film has been receiving since its Sundance debut last May. This means that legions of horror fans won't have to fly out to fancy film festivals in order to get a glimpse of the Twisted Twins' latest effort!
Here is the official synopsis info:
From the creative team that brought you the indie-smash film Dead Hooker In A Trunk - American Mary is the story of a medical student named Mary who is growing increasingly broke and disenchanted with medical school and the established doctors she once idolized. The allure of easy money sends a desperate Mary through the messy world of underground surgeries which leaves more marks on her than the so-called freakish clientele.
We'll keep you updated on any new information once it becomes available. In the meantime go HERE for more Twisted Twins and check out the trailer below!
By the by, this news does not divert our attempts to lure the luscious ladies into a Chicago screening ;)
Thanks for reading,
